July was all about sponge mode — soaking up powerful insights from some seriously inspiring guests!  

We kicked things off with none other than William “Bill” Orts — a guest we’ve had on our wish list for ages. And let us just say: totally worth the wait.  

Bill leads the bio-products division at USDA-ARS and calls himself a PHA lifer (yep, he’s that committed!). Our conversation with him was packed with real talk about the roots of bioplastics, the incredible behind-the-scenes work happening at USDA, and how gov + innovation can be a dream team.  

What really stood out? Bill’s generous spirit and his deep drive to share, support, and build a strong community around bio-products. It’s not just knowledge—it’s collab energy, and we’re here for it.

Our second guest was Alvin Lim, the powerhouse CEO & Founder of NBCo, and trust us—his story is one for the books. Born in Singapore, Alvin’s journey spans Big 6 accounting, gaming furniture (yes, you read that right), and now, killing it in sustainable packaging.
His hustle? Unreal. From tackling wild manufacturing hurdles to landing on one of the biggest electronics tech companies as a client, Alvin’s done it all. And now? He’s onto paper bottles. Yep. He’s cracking the code.
