Packaging the future

Good Garbage Podcast

June, 2025 |

What a whirlwind month it’s been for the Good Garbage Podcast team! We packed our mics, curiosity, and excitement and flew to London for the Rethinking Materials Summit — and what an experience it turned out to be. Thought-provoking, eye-opening, and deeply inspiring, the summit was everything we hoped for and more.

While the event itself was buzzing with innovation and conversation, one highlight stood out: recording a live, in-person episode with Scott Bolin, founder of TerraSafe Materials and President of DisSolves. Sitting face-to-face with Scott amidst the summit’s creative energy brought an entirely new depth to our conversation — and yes, we even got to touch and feel some of the incredible materials he’s working on!

Scott’s journey is anything but ordinary. With roots in literature and history, he’s ventured into a range of industries — from absorbent materials in hygiene to spirits with Next Century Spirits, and now, sustainable packaging with TerraSafe and DisSolves. He’s a true explorer, taking ideas from concept to creation and ultimately into real-world businesses. DisSolves’ recent success with water-soluble packaging for laundry detergents is just one example of how his work is making its way into the mainstream.

Our conversation with Scott goes beyond materials — it’s a rich and insightful dialogue on innovation, entrepreneurship, and the long road from idea to impact. It’s an episode we believe anyone in the regenerative packaging space (and beyond) will find value in.

If you haven’t already, make sure to tune in to the Good Garbage Podcast. We’re on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn — come join the conversation!

As we process all the learnings and connections from Rethinking Materials, we’re more excited than ever. Over the coming weeks, expect more voices from the summit — people who are not only changing what packaging looks like, but also how policies can help or hinder its adoption.

Until then, stay curious — and we’ll see you next week with a brand-new episode!
