April was a month of fascinating conversations and interesting perspectives for the Good Garbage Podcast.
Our first guest started out as a sustainable lifestyle enthusiast before finding her calling. For years, Simone Schuppan incorporated smalls habits in her daily life for adhering to a more sustainable lifestyle – whether it be using public transport or avoiding single use plastic. Little did she know though that her work would also become all about sustainability!
When the pandemic hit and forced her to reassess her professional choices, it was clear to her that she wanted to do something that aligned with her values. This is how she became the Founder and Managing Partner of c2Impact.
With c2impact, Simone believes in putting her expertise in research and marketing skills to good use by helping companies demonstrate how their greentech solutions are not only a sustainable choice, but also a profitable one for businesses.
In this episode, Ved presented Simone with some practical issues that sustainable packaging companies like Pakka face when it comes to pitching the product effectively and she came back with very clear and succinct solutions.

Next up we have Maddie Hamann, the co-founder of Pacha, a gluten-free organic bread. Their ingredients are sourced from regenerative agriculture, and their bread is packaged in a home compostable bread bag.
There couldn’t be a more ideal customer for a regenerative packaging brand, as they had a clear vision of only using packaging that is not harmful for the planet from day 1.
Maddie Hamann had an interesting career transition which she talks about in this episode – from studying civil engineering to oceanography and then pivoting to starting a gluten free bread business with her partner and three other co-founders.
She combined her math and science skills with her friendly Midwestern personality to take a leap of faith by starting her own business.
